Why do many of us stop drinking coffee in the afternoon? Why do you sleep well one day and then badly the next? Why do you sometimes fall asleep quickly but then lie awake for an hour in the middle of the night?

Have you ever thought about how your diet affects your sleep and how what you ate during the day may be keeping you awake at night? Most of us know that nutrition affects our overall health. But the influence of our food choices on our quality of sleep is not something that we pay attention to.

Join us for an informative and practical workshop with nutritionist Joske to learn how nutrition and sleep are connected and how to adjust your eating and drinking habits for a good night’s sleep.

You will learn lots of practical information and tips on how to eat and sleep well. You will also experience a relaxing yoga practice with Alison to de-stress at the end of the day.

– What is a healthy sleep pattern?
– How does a healthy diet contribute to a good night’s sleep?
– Which foods stimulate sleep and which foods disrupt your sleep?
– What other tools can you use to help sleep?

Joske Ten Bosch @lotus_vitaal - Vitality and Nutrition Coach & Expert

Joske’s strength lies in her broad knowledge of nutrition, health, energy management and vitality. Her approach is practical and down to earth. Joske lives with her family in Central Portugal, where she applies that knowledge to setting up a small-scale self-sufficient quinta. She is passionate about genuine contact, learning new things, discovering and experiencing life, inspiring people and making the world a more beautiful place to live.

Alison Melvin @alison_yoga - yoga & meditation teacher

Alison is an experienced Yoga Alliance E-500 RYT yoga and meditation teacher who has trained in the UK, the US and the Netherlands. After many years of living and teaching in the Netherlands, Alison moved with her partner to Portugal in 2020. Together they have lovingly restored an abandoned old farm and are working to create a more sustainable and kind way of living. Alison’s goal is to create a peaceful haven for people who want to take time off to rest and recharge in the beautiful natural surroundings of unspoilt Portugal.
