We invite you to take some time off from your busy schedule to take part in a weekend retreat at Quinta do Areal and learn more about plant-based cooking. Experienced vegan chef, Marit will be in the kitchen preparing delicious and visually attractive dishes, using locally-grown and mostly organic ingredients. As well as preparing all the meals, Marit will be sharing her knowledge about cooking plant-based with some cooking workshops, tips and demonstrations during the weekend.
Our intention is that guests will come away with a better understanding of how to include more plant-based foods into their diet, some favourite recipes from the weekend and some tips about how to cook vegan dishes at home for friends and family.
Marit’s way of living, cooking style and philosophy of life is all about minimizing the suffering and harm done to animals and the planet. She hopes to inspire others to contribute to a kinder world with her cooking and wants everyone to fully enjoy the delights vegan cuisine has to offer.
In addition to the focus on vegan cooking, we will also immerse ourselves in yoga practices to nourish our body, mind and spirit. We will practice meditation, yoga and pranayama in the morning and the evening. In the morning we will practice more active yoga to invigorate and strengthen the physical body and in the afternoon we will focus on relaxing yoga poses to restore and recharge the energetic body. Recognizing that we all need to learn simple techniques to relax more, we will end the day with a guided relaxation.
