Spring Clean your body with wild herbs

Saturday 24 February 2024
10am-5pm
Price 60 euros

In the early days of Spring when the fields and hedgerows are full of fresh young plants it is an ideal time for gently stimulating the digestive system and cleansing the body after the heavy comfort foods of winter.

On Saturday 24 February we are happy to welcome Victoria back to the Quinta to share some of her knowledge about medicinal plants and herbs as well as practical advice on how to grow them and what is useful in the kitchen or as a natural remedy. In the morning we will visit the medicinal herbal garden that Victoria designed and planted last autumn to check on its progress and then we will walk around thefarm to identify and harvest some common wild greens.

There will be a plant-based lunch based on healthy spring greens where we will taste some of these plants and share some recipe ideas for you to prepare at home. In the afternoon we will discuss ways to incorporate these plants into our diet as part of a natural health care plan. Victoria will also share some common herbal remedies and we will prepare together a simple beeswax salve for insect bites and scratches.

On Sunday 25 February between 10am-1pm Victoria is available for private herbal remedy consultations. Please make your appointment in advance by sending an email to contactus@quintadoareal.com. We will also be offering a seed exchange on Sunday 25 February 2pm-4pm for anyone who is interested.

Price

60 euros – day workshop including refreshments and plant based healthy lunch.

Overnight accommodation and/or private herbalist consultations with Victoria are available at extra cost. Please contact us for more information and prices.

The Team

Victoria Iles @jardimdartemisia - Herbalist & Teacher

Victoria is a certified herbalist, (University Paris XIII) gardener and teacher. Born in Devon in the UK she lived and worked in the Pyrenees for 27 years, where she cultivated and harvested in the wild a variety of medicinal plants. She formulates infusions, tinctures and salves and distills essential oils on an experimental basis. Following on from her experiences she now likes to design medicinal herb gardens for others, enabling them to regain sovereignty over their personal health and to promote a natural and holistic approach to self care.
